Creativity, Kundalini, PLAY!
Welcome more joy, openness and vitality into your life!
“Play is a sacred act. When we are playing, the essence of all creation flows freely through us. We are expressing our true nature and connecting with the very core of our existence. Nothing is more spiritual than that.”
~ Victor Shamas
And yet, how hard it can be for us adults to allow ourselves to play! All the seriousness of modern life, the ‘shoulds’ and ‘shouldn’ts’ of our conditioning, not to mention the very fundamental self-editing and restricting that becomes wired into our modes of expression and movement over a lifetime!
This workshop will create a supportive, intimate and fun space for us to liberate ourselves, allowing more of the creativity and play of life to move through us. Centred around a Kundalini yoga practice, there will also be some guidance for journaling and space to share and create.
Kundalini yoga practice
Guided self-reflection
Supportive space for sharing
Simple creative art practice
When? 12:30pm-2:30pm Saturday 26th July
Where?Mynd Counselling Centre, 5 Albert Walk, Bray
What to bring? Yoga mat, journal and your favourite pen, water and comfortable clothes, you can bring art materials if you have some favourites but you don’t need to, an open-heart or a heart willing to open
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga, activating the boundless energy of creation that rests at the base of our spine and channelling it upwards through the chakras, releases incredible stores of energy and potential, while also refining our consciousness to more subtle levels of awareness. These practices are beautiful and powerful to experience and they have been developed over centuries as a safe method of working with this energy.
You do not need experience to attend this workshop, it’s open to all levels. However, you will get more from the experience if you are able to ‘pump your navel’ – a minor muscle movement that is central to practices such as ‘breath of fire’ or ‘kapal bhati’. I will send a short instruction video for this to attendees before we meet so that you have a chance to practice this ahead of our workshop. I ask that you allow some time to practice this before we meet if you’ve never done it before as it will greatly benefit your experience during the workshop.
